Opening Day 1974, Riverfront Stadium, Jack Billingham got the start for the Reds and opened with a walk to Ralph Garr. This would end up haunting the Reds Hall of Famer. Two batters later, Hank Aaron stepped into the batter's box and clubbed a 3-run homer over the 375 ft mark on the left field wall giving the Braves an early 3-0 lead. Up on the big scoreboard, Opening Day fans saw "WALKS WILL HAUNT."
It was Hank's first homer of 1974 and tied him with "The Babe" as all-time home run leader with 714. The Reds went on to win that game 7-6.
Share those proud memories of the Big Red Machine and times had at Riverfront Stadium as only a real fan can.
